- **Event Description**: In the exhibition "Kambui Olujimi: North Star," body and movement take precedence as figures are depicted floating to explore ideas of weightlessness and freedom. Taking inspiration from Kambui Olujimi’s Death Drop Loop (2024), participants will render their own animation that celebrates their individual uniqueness. 

In this introductory workshop, participants will learn the technique of rotoscope animation, the process of creating animated sequences by tracing over live-action footage frame by frame. Participants will be using tablets and digital animation tools on the software Procreate to record a personalized movement of themselves, trace over their footage, and transform their video into a work of art.

Registration is $30 ($25 for members) 

Participants of all experience levels are welcome. A limited number of Apple iPad tablets are available for use in the class. Participants bringing their own tablets are asked to download Procreate prior to the start of the workshop. 

Art 101 is limited to 25 participants ages 13 and up. Space is limited and advance registration is strongly recommended.
